Experience in Post-Processing
Steve Gold’s background in cannabis post-processing began with supplying high-shear homogenizers, primarily to vape-oil processors. Through that work, he became familiar with the formulation concerns facing extractors, laboratory personnel, and processors, particularly the challenge of producing preparations with consistent physical properties.
His own work eventually turned to developing a THCA sublingual preparation from ice-water hash. Particle size, carrier-oil selection, and the distribution of cannabinoids throughout the preparation became central considerations, bringing the practical challenges of formulation into sharper focus.
Preparation Meets Biology
Gold’s work with THCA gradually broadened his interest from preparation methods to the compound’s potential biological activity. Although THCA has received less scientific attention than THC, research continues to explore its possible effects on inflammation, pain, and other biological processes.
THCA Preparations brings these areas together, examining both how THCA is prepared and what emerging research suggests about its biological activity.
